Is there a worse way of discussing te Tiriti?

Opinion: The website for Toitū Te Tiriti states that its kaupapa is tupuna-inspired, Tiriti-led, mana motuhake-driven and mokopuna-focused. I heard their response to whether they wanted to change the date of Hīkoi mō Te Tiriti given the early introduction of the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi Bill. They said no, we are not marching against the bill, we are marching for te Tiriti.
It is unacceptable on every level that Māori were not advised of the earlier date, but that pales into insignificance against the fact they were not even consulted about this bill at any point before its introduction.
